Pop artist donates over $100K to Planned Parenthood after retweet promise

Indie-pop hero Halsey has just helped prove that even if Twitter can't save the world, it can certainly assist in changing it.
Following Trump's inauguration, the immensely popular "New Americana" singer has made her support of reproductive health services like Planned Parenthood — services at direct risk under a new government — well known.
Her support came in the form of cash, and lots of it.
For a start, she participated in the Women's March along with mate and fellow pop culture powerhouse Katy Perry and model, actress and role model Hari Nef respectively.

But then Halsey hit up Twitter, promising she would donate a dollar to Planned Parenthood for every single retweet one of her posts received.
As the post states, Halsey's support of Planned Parenthood comes from a personal as well as a political place. The organisation helps raise awareness for conditions like endometriosis, an illness that affects the female reproductive organs and one that Halsey lives with.
The response from the internet was swift, and now over 100,000 retweets later, Halsey has stayed true to her word.
Understandably, the news has Halsey fans pretty overjoyed.
The revolution might not be televised, but it will hit Twitter.
